Caño Island Biological Reserve is located about 20 kilometers off the coast of the Osa peninsula. In the pre-Colombian époque the island was used as a cemetery by the former natives of this land.

The island is surrounded by five platforms of low coral reefs with many coral species. The coral reef environments are home to many different species of fish, parrot fish, Moorish Idol, Crocodile Needlefish, Guinea Fowl Puffer, Cornet fish and schools of Jack Fish, to name a few), and other aquatic animals such as sea turtles, sting rays, morays and white tip sharks.

The Caño Island Snorkel Tour includes: the boat, guide, snorkeling equipment, lunch and entry to the island.
It takes about 40 min in the boat to get to the Island.
You will have 3hs tour to swim and discover tons of species of beautiful and colorful fish!. You can observe sea turtles, dolphins, sea snakes and a huge number of pelagic birds nesting on the island.
There are two snorkeling in different marine areas around Caño Island, each snorkeling is about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Later, the ship heads to San Josecito beach for a picnic. You will enjoy some delicious snacks and drinks.

After lunch we travel back to Drake Bay.
